Phil was part of the UCLan annual Diversity planning committee from the start and he regularily contributed to the meetings - especially in the run up to the conference. He helped tremendioulsy with the promotion of the event within his own network and on social media. On the day he did a fantaistc job time-managing the event, and he helped to co-ordiante the IT is 4 different breakout rooms. Without Phil's assistant the Conferene would not have run as smoothly as it did.

Phil's astute timekeeping allowed him to get through a large amount of material and certainly had me thinking. I've taken my MBA textbook off my bookshelf as a result for a refresher course.
Company Comment:Paul, We're pleased you found the action learning session useful and that we got through plenty of content for you. We hope it's a good read and that you continue on your learning journey, as we do on a daily basis.

Phil is keen to support businesses and to help business owners find the solutions they need to current issues within their business.
Company Comment:Julie, Thank you for providing your feedback. It is positive views like yours which will help other organisations to assess whether the GuideDotYou Connect and Learn network could be right for them. We will continue to encourage those that visit our events to repeat their visit and also bring along a visitor or two, if they feel able to recommend our services. Whilst we will of course market our own services, word of mouth recommendations about our events are likely to be key to the growth of the groups.

Everytime we work with Phil I am impressed by how quickly he responds, but more importantly how detailed his responses are to our questions. Phil gets to the point and makes sense where some faff around the subject are can be vague in their responses. His honesty in his answers is also refreshing and whilst we may not like the answers sometimes the only way we can progress is with our partners / suppliers / consultants being upfront and honest.

I know Phil Parramore to be thorough, conscientious and insightful. In our time as school governors, Phil was respected for his well-considered views and for his support in striving for ever higher standards of performance. As well as having special responsibility for reviewing pupil attendance at the infant school, Phil chaired the Head-teacher Performance Management Committee at the newly formed primary school.

Stemming from over two decades of support to his three daughters, Phillip has a keen interest in education and its linkages to future employment. He is a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management, and has previously been an Executive Director for both The Condita Group and Favourite Flavours CIC. Earlier he spent five years as a primary school governor.

A SFEDI (Skills for Enterprise Development Initiative) approved Mentor, Phillip is currently Location Leader for 8 Business Networking, Blackpool, facilitating networking events and building the membership. He is also a central and active member of the Creative Communities Group, which acts as a catalyst for University and Community Partnerships in a variety of activities including Education, Arts, Sciences, History, Health and Social Awareness.

A visit by the Church of England to the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), organised by the UCLAN Creative Communities Group (CCG), a catalyst for partnerships between the University and the Community.

From Left To Right: Revd Neil Marchant, Deacon of the Parish of Penistone and Thurlstone; Lynne Livesey, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Russell Hogarth, Honorary Fellow and Founder of the UCLAN CCG; Revd Peter Burrows, Bishop Of Doncaster; Phillip Parramore, Social Entrepreneur and CCG member.

Phillip strongly believes that communities should be socially inclusive. He takes the view that being mentally or physically active should promote experiences of positive wellbeing, including improved self-esteem, motivation, improved general and mental health, and reduced psychological distress.  By promoting enhanced levels of community engagement encouraging people to participate in activities, volunteer, enter employment or work for themselves together we can improve the quality of life for so many, leading to better health outcomes for individuals across the population.

At the Northern Lights Business Incubation Unit at UCLAN, Phil meets regularly with Segun Babatunde. Segun owns YouMe Sign, a business which designs and makes solutions to help organisations better communicate with Deaf people in every day situations.

Phillip is very aware that many people face challenges and barriers to being employed, including those associated with protected characteristics such as age, race, gender and disability.  So he supports people who have the talents, skills and desire to succeed.  And they will achieve as long as they benefit from the correct levels of support and guidance.

Outside his business interests, Phillip also lives with and enjoys spending quality time with his partner, Stephanie. He loves spending time with his three grown up children, and likes listening to almost any type of music, following sport, walking and eating out.
