Why did Wyrebank need marketing and PR advice?

Word of mouth feedback was always good after an event. Therefore Wyrebank were struggling to understand why some potential customers were not selecting their venue after their initial enquiry. They felt that potentially some obvious problems were being missed by their management as they were too involved on a daily basis to spot them. They were aware that their process for gathering feedback was informal, however found it difficult to allocate internal resource to the task.

How did IRUN LSA help Wyrebank address their marketing and PR issues?

It was decided that TMS should be implemented to make the gathering of feedback as simple as possible for the diverse range of clients found at Wyrebank. The venue commissioned an App for use on tablets and smart phones and offers a manual card system for customers who are not computer literate or prefer the old fashioned pen and paper option. Results are published on Wyrebank’s website automatically and the addition of a star rated system gives prospects a feel-good factor due to the similarity to Trip Advisor.

What improvements were made as a result of IRUN LSA’s advice?

•    Wherever appropriate at events, a bar to table drinks service is offered so that customers don’t have to leave their seats.
•    Creation of ‘Wyrebank Bed Mates’ – a selection of hand-picked local accommodation providers that also offer excellent service.  For wedding parties, Wyrebank offer to pay transportation costs to and from the venue.
•    A window blind was fitted to block the view into the kitchen. Cost just £50.
•    Wyrebank has established an internal process to deal with any improvement comments immediately and as a result recent feedback shows 100% of reviewers would now recommend the venue.

How has Wyrebank benefited from IRUN LSA’s advice? 

Wyrebank are delighted to report that turnover has increased by 40% over the past 12 months. They have also become a finalist in two categories of a high profile business award, The BIBAS Lancashire 2015. They are finalists in the ‘Leisure Business of the Year’ and ‘Excellence in Customer Service’ categories.
As a result of the ‘Bed Mates’ scheme, accommodation providers have now become referral partners, suggesting Wyrebank for event bookings. One of the larger providers recently received a booking for 18 rooms and a dinner reservation for 30 people from a Wyrebank wedding party. Within this reciprocal relationship Wyrebank took a party booking for 150 guests which generated over £3000 in room-hire, catering and bar sales.
