A huge thanks from all of us at ICC for the fantastic events that you set up for our workshops. Cocktail making went down an absolute storm and it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves with the guys – and finally relaxing! A big thank you to KDM for all their help in finding the wonderful venue and for making this year’s Christmas party a special event. We found it very easy dealing wit hHayley at KDM, who answered any queries and requests in a prompt manner. We felt truly taken care of. I must say that the venue is a hidden gem! Everyone was utterly charmed by the venue – it was of a perfect size and the flow of the event worked really well, from the cloak room, the drinks reception, the positioning of the photo booth and the wonderfully decorated dining room. The staff were courteous and proactive, we felt taken care of extremely well and did not have to worry about any details. We felt that the team paid close attention to detail and there was a good amount of staffing present at all times. The food was delicious and presented well; we also loved the presentation of the cocktails. The photo booth was great fun and well visited – definitely a highlight of the night, leaving everyone with little mementos. We all had a wonderful night and the feedback from the team received so far has been great! Many thanks to KDM and we hope to work with them again in the near future!

AV set and support was fab and despite one speaker putting himself on mute (comical!) all went really well. The AV crew were really helpful and accommodating and the additional Event Management support on the day is always very comforting and gratefully received. In terms of the evening entertainment, the casino tables seemed to go down swimmingly - judging by the noise and the fact that I couldn't even get close enough to either of the tables to have a go. I therefore personally chose the cocktail bar, which was again really good. The "English Garden" was lovely and if I see it on a drinks menu again, I'll certainly be choosing that one!

The evening was fab, the KDM guys were fantastic and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Our main objective was to make it different from previous ‘Gala Dinners’ and I’m really pleased to say that we achieved it, with KDM's help. I have had very positive feedback for both events delivered by KDM. The Royal Heist was great fun, the delegates enjoyed the mix of outdoor ‘treasure trail’ (despite the very heavy shower!!!) and brilliant, very competitive, indoor challenges. A super event, enjoyed by all. Play Your Games Right was perfect for our after dinner activity and was also thoroughly enjoyed by all delegates. A fun, interactive event, which matched our brief perfectly. Graeme and his colleague were both fantastic and their delivery of the events definitely added to the overall enjoyment.Great help and support in organising both activities.

Our experience of working with KDM Events was outstanding. Not only did they find us a suitable venue where other event companies had failed, the whole process was simple, seamless and delivered within a very reasonable budget. Lyndsay was so accommodating; friendly, flexible and nothing was too much trouble. She handled changes to the plans like the addition of a BBQ professionally and her communication was exemplary. Despite the Grapeshot team’s apprehension about the Sports Day theme, once they got involved in the games they really enjoyed themselves. We will most certainly be using KDM Events for any requirements we have in the future.

With over 50 employees based in both the UK, USA and Singapore, they now plan to expand into Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, Boston, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Sydney, Paris and Frankfurt. 

Every year as much of the international team as possible get together for their Summer Company Meeting. 2015 was no different with the entire team from the UK, 4 from the US and 1 from Singapore converging on central Cambridge. Grapeshot is building an internal reputation for putting on unique summer parties for their staff, so the brief for their event co-ordinator was to find a venue that offered both suitable indoor conference facilities for the team meeting in the morning, along with outside space suitable for fun and frolics in the afternoon. At first glance this seemed a simple enough requirement. However, with the date in question being the last day of term and the usual venues such as universities still populated by students, other event companies were unable to find a suitable venue in the required location. Beginning to despair, Grapeshot found KDM Events online. KDM were confident that they would not only secure an appropriate venue, but that they would also be able to manage the afternoon’s frivolity which would be in the form of a School Sports Day.

KDM Events have offices in both London and the North which means their local knowledge of the Cambridge area was hugely beneficial. With years of experience in all aspects of Event Management, including live event management, onsite support, delegate tools, the latest presentation technologies, and access to a vast array of fun team events, KDM was able to manage all parts of the day and liaise with outside suppliers, taking the pressure completely from Grapeshot employees. Lyndsey from KDM Events worked closely with Grapeshot and managed to secure a fantastic venue, Churchill College, which offered just the right balance of internal ambience and outside facilities essential to the success of the day. She set about project managing the afternoon’s entertainment including arranging and co-ordinating old fashioned School Sports Day races, a barbecue, liquid refreshments, first aid provision, prizes and the motivation of 50 odd somewhat reluctant competitors. 

Grapeshot was delighted with their Summer Meeting from beginning to end. Gael Norris, Grapeshot HR Business Partner based in their London office was tasked with organising the event and she says of KDM Events:

Why we chose to work with KDM events

“We’d worked with KDM in the past organising Christmas parties, so we knew how professional they were and also that the team would relish taking on a challenge that would take us out of the comfort zone” says Julie Bunce of Prologis.

KDM’s client account manager Lyndsey Yarwood takes up the story, “We adapted an indoor collaborative team build event (Crystal Maze) so that half of it was done outdoors. We also added a professional facilitator to the event as the client felt it was important to have someone there to talk through the learning points whilst the event was happening and point out how to use it together back in the workplace. We switched the teams around throughout the event so that the guests were all having to work with different members of the group which they thought was a great (and challenging) experience!”

In the evening an outdoor barbecue allowed the teams to relax and review the earlier event which then continued over traditional pub games, such as darts, air hockey and skittles where informal teams were reinforced as they reminisced over what had been achieved.

What we’d say to anyone thinking of working with KDM

“It was a really good demonstration of the value that professional event organisers can offer.  The team worked really hard on the day to move part of the event outside, so we were able to take advantage of some great weather and the professional facilitator was really intuitive – switching teams when needed and making the collaborative learning process fun and entertaining. KDM proved brilliantly that they know how to run creative events and I’d thoroughly recommend their services to anyone, in fact we’re already looking forward to the next one,” says Julie.

Point S is well on its way to becoming one of the automotive sector’s go to brands for tyres used by consumers and fleet operators alike.  A forty year history has seen the company become established as one of Europe’s leading suppliers of tyres, wheels and car service with an ever increasing footprint across the globe.  In just five years over 200 independently owned centres have joined the UK network benefitting from the brand’s values and commitment to customer service.

Because the network spans the country opportunities for relationship building have to be taken seriously and Point S places great value on the annual summer party for the company’s staff and partners. The date was set for the 4th of July, making the theme of Independence Day an easy choice, but when it came to making the event come to life it was suggested by the manager of the venue in Warwick that Point S should talk to a professional event organiser.

Why we chose to work with KDM Events

After an initial meeting it was clear that the brief brought the best out of KDM Events as attendees needed to be thoroughly entertained, event sponsors impressed and budgets strictly adhered to.

The chosen theme of  4th July was incorporated into all the venue areas at Ashorne Hill with table dressing, painted backdrops and giant props such as American flags decorating the Bar, Restaurant and Foyer. For entertainment KDM provided indoor and outdoor themed games and entertainers, including a caricaturist who proved to be really popular. Then the venue was taken over by the country band and disco until 1.00am.

To help the 130 guests recognise staff at Point S and sponsor Apollo, KDM’s graphics department designed bespoke ‘wanted’ posters with photos of key individuals which were printed and displayed around the venue. Lastly KDM sourced contemporary country music and built a play list as music throughout the event until the band kicked off.

What we’d say to anyone thinking of working with KDM

Sam Simpson from Point S, was responsible for the event, “Right from the start KDM were great to work with, Garry was great and had everything organised and all the guys with him were so lovely and helpful and did a great job.  Also, Clive the Caricaturist was fantastic and he mingled round with people early on which went down really well. It was excellent and the props etc. were great. I can’t wait now for our next one and I will definitely be contacting you again.”
